Global financial services consulting organisation was exploring new ways to educate and engage its resources through a series of case studies. The organisation was looking to upskill its employees in the art of collaborative negotiation. Negotiation skills are seen as a fundamental skill set in today’s modern workforce. However, many of the teaching methods and tools were still stuck in dated practices. The organisation also needed a rapid way to deploy the learning material across Europe and North America and ensure that learning outcomes were being achieved through some form of testing and accreditation.
The team worked with a third party (lead from the Harvard negotiation project) who helped create the content for the course. The team directed and produced the blended learning series. The technology team then created a novel Learning Management System (LMS) that was able to deliver a “Choose your own adventure’ style case study tailored to different levels within the organisation. The technology platform combined video and bespoke comic case studies to help resources answer situational questions about how they would respond to certain negotiation based scenarios. The solution also provided the course administrators to be able to verify which resource had completed the course successfully and understood the principles of collaborative negotiation through an adaptive quiz. This was built as a web-enabled responsive solution also functional on all mobile devices.
Hundreds of thousands of games later, people around the world have had fun playing word games and exploring languages. The game has also been played across hundreds of schools in the United State, Europe, middle east and Asia. The game was recorded as a top 50 game in Asia and received recognition from media outlets such as Huffington Post and Wamda. The game was also showcased at TechCrunch conferences around the globe.
